About Rori
200 million children in Africa are not achieving minimum levels of proficiency in maths.
High-quality, high-dosage tutoring is one of the best ways to improve outcomes.
Despite the growing size of the private tutoring market, access to high-quality provision is out of reach for the vast majority of children.
Rori addresses that gap.
Rori is available on ultra low-cost devices.
Students can converse with Rori on any smart phone, for free, in their natural language via WhatsApp.
Rori is designed for students in Upper Primary and Junior High School and all lessons are based on the Global Proficiency Framework.
It can be used as an in-school tool or as an out-of-school support.
Rori delivers micro-lessons, asks practice questions and understands students’ answers. Students progress through topics at their own pace.
The conversational format creates a durable, friendly rapport and promotes meta-cognition.
Children love Rori.
Rori is being developed by Rising Academies across more than 50 of their schools in Ghana and Sierra Leone, with a large, representative sample of teachers, parents and students.
This allows Rising to follow best practices in human centered design and conduct rapid micro-evaluations to constantly improve Rori’s capabilities.
